IPOH: Human Resources Ministry would look into the need to coordinate several ministries to avoid overlapping functions in the handling of skills training institutes.
Minister M Kulasegaran said the matter would be discussed with the ministries involved, namely Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports before it was tabled to the Cabinet.
“The overlapping must stop, we must specialise, we are all in one family (the ministries).
“Allocations should not be wasted and this is what we are going to look into,” he said after visiting the Ipoh Industrial Training Institute ( ILP) here yesterday.
He said the skills training institutes should not compete with one another, but with the private or foreign institutions to be the best.
Besides, Kulasegaran said the skills training institutes must also collaborate with the industries to move forward. — Bernama
