PUTRAJAYA, Sept 5 (Bernama) -- The Human Resources Ministry will organise for the first time, the National Skills Carnival and Expo 2013 from Sept 26-30 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park. Human Resources Minister Datuk Richard Riot said the carnival would give an opportunity to the public to have a closer look at existing skills and to promote products and courses that are offered.
"In conjunction with the carnival, two competitions will be held, namely, Malaysia Skills Competition (for skills trainees) and MySkills Competition (for teaching manpower)," he told reporters before attending the ministry's Hari Raya function, here, on Thursday.
He said 23 areas would be contested such as Electrical Installation, Automotive Technology, Information Technology, Network Cabling, IT System Network Administration, Graphic Design Technology, Web Design and Welding.
The winner of the competition would receive the Prime Minister's Golden Hand Award, he said. Other events were school level robot competition, career talk, automotive exhibition, super bike show, RM1 motorcycle service and online registration of student at Public Skills Institutes.
The carnival, which would be held in cooperation with the Work Ministry, Youth and Sport Ministry, Rural and Regional Development Ministry and Women, Family and Community Development Ministry is expected to attract 60,000 visitors.
